engaging parents
Some things that teachers may not think about during school as much as they should, is the parents of their students. Keeping parents involved with what is going on in their child's class is incredibly important. In the blog posting about engaging parents, there are multiple tips and resources to use that could keep parents involved! Posting announcements and sharing calendar events are two easy, but helpful things that should be done for parents. Parents would love to know about what important stuff is happening in their child's classroom at the moment. An easy way for parents to hear about things going on is by using Remind. Signing up for Remind allows teachers to send out quick text messages to all of the parents about a numerous amount of things. Another great idea is to let parents volunteer or participate in the classroom. When I was in elementary school my mom would always help out my teacher with our Halloween party and I loved it! My favorite idea from this blog is hosting a Parent Workshop. During these workshops you can start off with icebreakers to get to know each other. You can show parents what the students will be using in the classroom such as apps and talk about the school year. The parents can also use this opportunity to express questions and concerns to the teacher. These are only a few of the many ways that teachers can get parents involved in their classroom.
